He has coached volleyball for the past ten years in the Dallas Parochial League at the middle school level, coaching boys, girls and co-ed teams at two different schools. Since the Garland Volleyball Association started in 2001, Steve has had one or more teams in all of the Spring and Fall seasons and occasionally coached Summer league teams, running volleyball clinics for third through sixth grade students during the summer months. He is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and is IMPACT and CAP Level I certified with US A Volleyball (USAV CAP I). He has also coached soccer for thirteen years, holding a State D coaching license, and has coached baseball and basketball. Steve also referees high school volleyball and soccer, is a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials and National Association of Sports Officials, has umpired baseball, refereed American football and basketball. Steve is CPR trained through the American Red Cross and is Sport First Aid certified through the American Sports Education Program.
