The Cardinals are made up of several volleyball teams that have participated in the Dallas Parochial League and the Garland Volleyball Association over the years, coached by Steve Boeding. In the Fall of 2007, Steve will return to Good Shepherd Catholic School to assist with a boys team in the DPL co-ed league. Hopefully, the Cardinals will again become a popular team name in the local recreational league.

Coaches Profiles:
Steve Boeding:Steve has been coaching volleyball since 1997, starting with a fifth through eighth grade boys team in the Dallas Parochial League for Good Shepherd Catholic School, the Cardinals. Steve coached the first recreational Cardinals team in the Garland Volleyball Association in the leagues inaugural Fall 2001 season. The team was actually called the Eagles but coach got confused with team names since he had more than one team. By the next Spring season, all of his teams in each different age bracket were called the Cardinals. He has had at least one team in each of the Spring and Fall seasons that the Garland Volleyball Association has been active. Since the 2004 club season, Steve has been coaching under 12 girls teams for the Dallas Summit Volleyball Club and will be joining the NITRO Volleyball Club family for the 2008 season. Steve is CAP I certified, first referee certified and is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and Texas Association of Sports Officials. Steve has also coached soccer (originally, the Cardinals) for the past fourteen years, holds a state 'D' coaching license and has maintained a grade 8 soccer referee certificate since 1997.
